Anyways, last Friday was my last day with Michal. I seriously woke up and started crying. For many of you, that might be weird but Michal is literally my soul true friend. I don't know if you've ever had one but basically she ALWAYS knows exactly what's going on in my life. ALWAYS. Things I love about Michal:
- She knows why I have such a strong attachment to Taylor Swift. And who introduced me to her. And which boys I think about to each of her songs. It's impressive. She can also usually tell who I am thinking about/how I am feeling based off the music I am listening to.
- She has been with me through almost every single moment of my college experience. She was there for my many D days. And my days where I felt like I was not adequate enough to attend BYU. And all of my awkward dating experiences. And my disappointments. And my happy moments- like getting asked out on my first date. And when I got President Uchtdorf's letter. And when I was accepted to the Washington Seminar. And when I finally had the courage to let go of the one person who meant the most to me.
- She encouraged me to start to love the Book of Mormon.
- She understands that I wish I could literally be at my house in Colorado almost every day. And she's okay with it.
- She is a hard worker. She helped me with many of my not so fun projects at work. She is a chicken fan. And laughs at my weird jokes. And doesn't judge me when I eat M&Ms at 8 in the morning. And she likes my cheesy love song playlist.
- She is the world's easiest person to talk to.She will love AND hate people for me. (basically just teachers and boys, but it's still the best). She completely understands my love language (words of affirmation) and therefore completely knows how to be my best friend. Seriously. She has literally written posts about why she thinks I am awesome. You can't get better than that!
- She and I seem to go through the same type of change most of the time and so she can always empathize with every situation.
- She drives me to the airport. And the grocery store. And lets me stay in her apartment when my own roommate and I got in a fight last year. And takes me to her house for fake New York getaways. Basically, she always is doing service for me ALWAYS.
- She puts up with my craziness. She is one of the few people who appreciates me flaws and all.
- She is one of the biggest spiritual giants out there and is always bringing me up with all her spiritualness.
Basically. words cannot express how much I am going to miss this girl! She will be interning at Franklin Covey and will be the best intern they have ever seen! Michal, you are truly my first true friend and I will never forget that! I just realized that this sounded like we were never going to see each other, which is not true, but it will be different not seeing her 20 hours every week.
On Friday night I was a little bit sad about the whole Michal thing so my wonderfully awesome roommate, Marisa decided we should go to dinner. As we were turning onto University Parkway, somehow we came up with the thought to go to Salt Lake. We were literally in our sweat pants and I had NO make up. But that didn't matter. We turned left, screaming "YOLO" and then we peaced out of Provo. We headed to City Creek which was gorgeous. I had the opportunity to walk into a Tiffany's store. We also walked around temple square. Here's a secret: I love temple square. Seriously. It is the only temple where I could get to proposed to and not be disappointed. Overall, it was the perfect, relaxing getaway. It was a good reminder that I can wait for my Joseph. As in, I deserve a gem of a man and I will wait for him!
On Saturday, I came home! Michal drove me to the airport (I told you she was always helping me out) and we jammed to Christmas music. While at the airport, I ran into Crazy Case (aka my friend from my very first summer at BYU) and we chatted until her flight left. My dad and mom were totally excited to come get me and it was so precious! THEY ARE THE BEST! My dad called and asked me what I wanted him to bring foodwise and I just told him the specific way I wanted my turkey sandwhich prepared. It turns out we didn't have any mustard, so he sent my brother to go get it. My dad loves me! I got there and then waited for my sister (who was coming in from Arizona after Cross Country Regionals). When she finally got there, it was a precious reunion. My sister is dang fast! She PR'd two minutes.
Sunday I had the opportunity to go to my home ward. I LOVE MY WARD! It is one of my few 'safe places' I can go where I know everybody loves me. Later, my family and I watched the Amazing Spiderman while eating one of my favorite meals: sweet and sour chicken. It was so fun. It's amazing how much your family can still be the same even though you've been gone for awhile.
Yesterday I received this:
This was the exact specific office I wanted to work on because I want to be a lawyer. Basically, MY LIFE IS THE BEST! I can't wait to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family and am looking forward to the rest of semester. Life is so grand! Since I've been home, I've read 4 books, which is just so relaxing! 44 days until D.C. baby!
P.S. My sister Laurel shared this song with me and it is now my new motivational life song:
P.P.S. Here are some pictures of my recent adventures:

Oh my heavens Kelsey, you are the nicest person EVER! I love you so much and I can't say thank you enough for everything you have done for me. You were and are a blessing to me every single day since I met you! And it will just keep going. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for being there for the terrible projects, the boy-missing, the experiences with my Grandma's cancer, everything. Thanks for being there to celebrate all of the good things, like not failing accounting, good grades, year marks, project completions, Taylor Swift's new albums, and basically everything good that EVER happened. I love you forever!!!!
