“Live this day as if it will be your last. Remember that you will only find ''tomorrow'' on the calendars of fools. Forget yesterday's defeats and ignore the problems of tomorrow. This is it. Doomsday. All you have. Make it the best day of your year. The saddest words you can ever utter are, ''If I had my life to live over again. ''Take the baton, now. Run with it! This is your day! Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.”-Og Mandino

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the above quote. (Allusion to Taylor Swfit)You never know how one person can impact another. In fact, you hardly know what another person is going through. Also, as you know I'm still obsessed with the future. So in addition to Taylor Swift's Speak Now CD, I now have reason to actually live today like it's my last. This may seem kind of morbid, but seriously. How many times do I overanalyze something and not realize that if I stopped thinking so long that I could be enjoying my life, not just enduring it. (In case you didn't catch that, that was an allusion to Gordon B. Hinckley's quote... "Life is to be enjoyed, not just endure." I had to point it out because I am quite fond of allusions. And quotes by President Hinckley.) Now onto some awesome highlights of my life:
  • No matter how many months you've been away from home, you'll always miss your family. And the smell of laundry sheets. Yep, not only do I miss my family profusely, but I miss the way my mom's laundry dryer sheets smell. Now I have the same kind, but it's completely different because the smell is not potent enough. So that's my little sad sob story about dryer sheets. The first thing I do when I go home is to smell the inside of our dryer. I'm not kidding.
  • I think I've decided I want to go to law school. I know what you're thinking. Kelsey+lawer=chaos. But since I'm majoring in English and looking at graduate school programs, I've decided to not get a master's in english because it's just not practical. It turns out that one of the main majors law schools look for is english. Who would have known? So me being the crazy researcher I am looked up all this information about law school and it sounds like my cup of figurative tea. Not only is it mostly reading and writing, it's also about critical thinking and I LOVE that. On a slightly more embarassing note, the reason I hadn't considered law school in the past was because I thought lawyers were in court ALL of the time. How did I come to this conclusion? Television. Yep, I'm a pretty good critical thinker already. Other options include business school or editing. But I'm pretty confident in the law school. In fact, I took a free practice test one random Saturday morning. (Yep, I'm a pretty cool kid taking a practice LSAT on a Saturday as a freshman.)
  • I have finally figured out who/where I am living. I am going to be living in Liberty Square which is like the epitome of a social butterfly place. It's basically THE place to live sophomore year. I'm going to be rooming with Sam again (yay!) and we've already decided we're buying the Kramer poster from Seinfeld. Also, Madison and hopefully Carrie will be living with us! Wahooo! I can't wait!
  • I got to donate blood again but alas, there was no cute single guys to take it from me this time. However, I pr'ed. Yep, it only took six minutes. And I got delicious cookies so yep. Awesome.
  • I got sweat pants. Now I know you're asking yourself, why is this a highlight? But I have NEVER gotten attire from a school because as soon as you're in the next level, it's not acceptable to wear it anymore. (i.e. the cute outdoor lab gear I wanted but my mom didn't buy because she knew it wouldn't be cool to wear it in middle school) So since it's socially acceptable to wear college gear your entire life, I have finally gotten BYU sweat pants. The only way I could possibly describe how they feel is it's like a comforter on my legs. And they're super baggy and freaking awesome. Basically, it's love.
  • I also got the opportunity to go to Idaho to visit Clarissa. Seriously I do not think I've eaten that much in a looong time. On the way up, we got Chipotle in Sandy (obviously we couldn't pass that up!). And then we finally got there and we stopped at Texas Roadhouse. I didn't eat there, but went to Cocoa Bean and got the most delicious cupcake known to man or woman, the Raspberry Chocolate Cheesecake. From there we go to visit Clarissa and it was sooo nice having the three together. (Madison was there too). On Saturday we chilled. And by chilled, I mean we ate everything they have to offer in Rexburg. haha We went and got fro-yo (frozen yogurt) at Twizl Berry and then proceeded to get Crazy bread from Little Caesars and then a Pink star from Jamba Juice. Not many people know that I LOVE pink starbursts with a fiery passion, but I do and that's exactly what a Pink Star from Jamba tastes like, heaven. YUM! We then watched Baby Mama, which is hilarious and ordered pizza. In case you didn't get it, we ate A LOT of food. Then we burned off all those calories by walking to see the Next Three Days which was way intense but would have been better if Matt Damon was the main character... just saying. Anyways, it was a perfectly awesome relaxing evening with Clarissa.
  • I also got the opportunity to play broom hockey for a ward activity. Yep, it started a half hour past my bed time (which is 10) and I still went. You should be proud of me. Me, staying up late to play a sport. But instead of playing, Kristen, Carrie and I stood still and looked pretty. Basically in order to save ourselves from embarassment, we  stood with our hockey sticks, periodically singing into them when a good song came on. My former home teacher Garrett tried to make us actually play, but there was no way we were going to get competitive over a ball. Seriously!
  • Recently, I decided to go to the temple once a week. I missed last week, but was good for the first three weeks and plan to be better in the future. I LOVE it! The Provo temple is ALWAYS busy, but seriously it's like the queen of temples because they have this huge selection of temple jumpsuits. Seriously, they have talls which makes my day every time.
  • Also, I found a book entitled "How to Get Married," in the BYU bookstore. Seriously, how is that not surprising? I totally bought it though. It was kind of creepy but oh well, so worth it.
  • Also fun was three way video conferencing with Cassie and Kelly. One of us was always frozen or gone in the conversation it felt like, but it was freaking awesome!
  • I also get to be home in 16 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To say I'm excited would be an understatement. I am going to work at my old job (Colorado State Parks) and eat strawberry popsicles every afternoon. And perhaps Yogurtland every other day. I cannot wait!!! I will also be attending the single's ward, looking for the super hott brown haired, blue eyed man I know awaits me (Seriously, is he's wearing a sweater, I'd be down.)
  • I recently got to go to conference! Like at the conference center!! Adriana, Sterling (Adriana's fiancee) and I got up at 3:30 (Ya, WAY too early for college students) and went on a Walmart run where we got like snowballs and cupcakes for breakfasts haha. Then we waited in line from 5:30 to 9:45 talking to all these members. It was soo awesome to see the temple lit up during the sunrise. Seriously, I LOVE the Salt Lake temple. Then at around 9:45, after we had been number 50 in the standby line, some random person had three extra tickets. So yep, on Saturday morning I got to hear the announcement of a new temple in Fort Collins. I was SOOOO excited!
  • Also, I finally finished the Book of Mormon. It's incredible reading it from a scholary perspective.
Well, I've been a bum because March=death. March was like the moodiest month of my life. I don't know why Satan continues to tell me I'm not good enough, but recently I've decided I am worth it. Someday I hope to fully realize that and that some awesome Matt Damon look-a-like will realize that too (preferrably a lawyer!).

Anyways, I continue to remain positive about my future. As Emerson once stated, "For everything you have missed (i.e my family/home), you have gained something else (my friends here) and for everything you gain, you lose something." So while  college has been somewhat of a lame experience last month, I'm still kicking and now finally loving it again. Only 2 more papers and 5 finals until my dad picks me up!!!!!!!! Love you all. Sorry I've been a bum lately.
